Welcome to my new blog

Welcome to my new blog!

So often people hear “Location! Location! Location!” when talking about real estate – and there are very good reasons for that.  But it is also “People! People! People!” I don’t need an expert to tell me that if I don’t trust or have confidence in someone, I’m likely not going to do business with them. And I am certainly not going to ask them to help me make one of the biggest financial decisions of my life.  There are literally hundreds of Realtors® in the Bowling Green area who are anxious and fully capable of showing you a bunch of houses that are available and ready for you to purchase.  No problem! Figuring out which one of us is the best match for you and your needs is just as important as the house you will ultimately choose to live in and make your home.

The truth is, buying and selling houses – and definitely making one a home – takes time, effort, money and a bit of stress.  It just does.  Why?  Because it greatly involves your heart and your hard earned money!  But the journey can actually be an exciting and even pleasant one if you and your Realtor® are a good match.

A Good Match

As a real estate professional, I know people who choose me to be their Realtor® do so because they know and trust me and my work and have confidence in the information and services I will provide them.  They have either already worked with me or trust someone who has and recommended me.  For others, researching information provided over the internet can be tricky.  For me, actions speak louder than words.

So until we work together, how do I show you that I know what I’m talking about, am going to listen to you and provide you with the information and quality services you need?  How can I show you I will help you in your effort to sell your existing home or buy a new one – or both! – in a way that makes sense and feels comfortable but is still realistic for our market at the time?  And if you are already a client, how do I provide you with helpful information that goes beyond the basics you can find just about anywhere these days?

A good, experienced Realtor® will not only take the time to understand your likes and dislikes, they will help you understand how they fit into reality and your options in our current market so you can make the decision that you will be happy with when all is said and done.  I can’t change the market for you. No one can.  But those details matter to me, and I think they are pretty important to you, too.

Why blog?

That’s why I decided to start a blog to take the information you can find on your own on the internet and apply it to the real estate market where YOU live today or plan to tomorrow.  Looking online tells me you are invested in doing your homework to meet your goal.  [Good for you by the way!]  But reading about and looking at pictures on how to stage a home for great results in Albuquerque, New Mexico or some other great community will only take you so far.

What does that mean here in this area?  How do all those trend reports about which counter top to definitely get or avoid help when you are trying to sell or buy a home here?  While it is true the essentials of information you find on national sites and blogs can apply in many markets, the way it can impact the value of your home or the one you are looking for there vs here right now can be very different.  And if there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer, I definitely want to find out.  Because if my client needs the information, I do, too.

You need to feel at home to find your new home.

I named my blog At Home because everything discussed here will be about local homes and real estate in some way.  I also want you to feel at home with me and the information you find here.  And hopefully even find humor along the way.

If you’re reading this, then you’re interested – and I’m incredibly flattered!  Thank you!

Of course, not everyone needs or even wants a lot of “extra” information. That’s why I designed my site to include all the essential information buyers and sellers need.  Articles, real estate news, market data, school finders and resources for moving and more.  It’s all here, and I encourage you to explore those areas as well because they really are the fundamentals you need to buy and sell real estate.  Please visit as often as you like and use what you need.

So what will you find At Home?

First and foremost, I will write about things my clients and readers request to meet their needs.  But really anything and everything I think will help save my client’s time, money and spirit while in our local real estate market.  Clients are typically only in the market a relatively short period of time.  But as a full time Realtor®, I’m in it all the time.  My blog is one way I can share my knowledge and experience with you today and as things change over time. Info will be organized and archived so clients can easily find it even after they have the keys and are settled.

So if you’re interested in something in particular, please let me know. The market changes constantly. If you’re interested, odds are others are, too.

And by the way! If you love living in your neighborhood, please let me know.  I would love to hear from you and include your reasons in my new Neighborhoods spotlight page.

Well that’s it!  Thank you very much for visiting my site and blog today.  I hope you’ve learned a little more about me and how I can help make your journey to your new home more pleasant and successful.  If you’re still with me, I think we make a pretty good match!
